First SK Mercedes equipped with ABS

Pictured here is the TG444 back in 1990. It was the first of Mercedes’ SK line to be equipped with ABS / ASR pneumatic suspension used for international transport.

ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation or Traction Control) prevent the wheels from locking during braking. This ensures better steering control and stability, especially in emergency stops or slippery conditions.

Between 1990 and 1992, Luxembourg’s logistics sector stood at a pivotal point of transformation, as the country began positioning itself as a strategic hub in the heart of Europe. The early 1990s marked the transition from traditional industrial logistics to modern, service-oriented logistics, driven by regional integration and globalization.
