Outsize
The rapid expansion of Wallenborn’s Outsize & Aerospace cargo division has led to a significant multi-million euro investment in new trucks and trailers to enhance its XXL fleet. Many of these trailers are custom-designed and manufactured in our in-house workshop. Our power rollerbed trailers are capable of transporting large aircraft engines and a variety of other oversized loads. Additionally, some of our trailers are certified for the transport of ASML RGX and RZX containers. Our extensive fleet of ultra-low loaders, featuring a platform height of just 35 cm, is ideally suited for the transportation of tall and wide cargo, including helicopters, boats, rolling machinery, containers etc.
Abnormal load permits
We made significant investments to maintain an extensive portfolio of abnormal load permits across the UK, Europe, Turkey, and the Maghreb region. This strategic approach enables us to respond swiftly – typically within hours or days – to arrange transportation for loads with widths of up to 400 cm.
Typically, obtaining such permits can take up to six weeks, which could lead to production halts, grounded aircraft, or missed departures of ocean-going vessels or else. By having these permits readily available, we mitigate potential disruptions and ensure timely logistics solutions for our clients.
Wallenborn is a regulated agent certified by the Luxembourgish government. We have been TAPA TSR certified since 2012 and were the first asset-based company in the EMEA region to be certified at three levels – levels 1, 2 and 3. We currently have fixed outsized licenses between 290cm – 400cm in numerous countries across Europe, and further licenses can be obtained upon request. We have over 70 extendable mega curtain-side trailers of which 22 are currently assigned to fixed outsized trucks and drivers.
